A jacket is the second most important item of clothing to wear when riding a motorcycle. Like a helmet, it should fit snugly without being constricting. You should also tailor your jacket to the conditions you will be riding in. As a general rule, buy the thickest material available to you, as this will provide the best abrasion protection.

Most of these jackets have a high neck, usually closed with a snap. They have a smooth style, with a zip close, most with pockets. Many of the jackets have contrast color striping, reflective strips, and/or armored padding.
